Past the half way point!

I am officially more than half way through my pregnancy! Wow- that seems kinda crazy...the baby will be here before we know it. I guess we ought to really get serious about picking a name :) We finally have a selection of things on our baby registry, but were exhausted after spending 2 hours at Baby's R Us and only making it through a quarter of the store (so much to choose from!).

I still feel great, but I don't feel baby kicks yet. I went to the Dr yesterday and he explained that the ultrasound photos (which I still need to post-sorry for the delay) revealed that the placenta is in the front. This means that the baby is kicking and punching the placenta, rather than the inside of my belly. Until he gets a bit bigger and stronger, I probably won't feel much. Although, I swear I may have felt him jump last week when my co-worker turned on the loud blender in the break room. I was standing right next to it, and I felt a quick sudden movement when it turned on. I'm convinced the poor thing was startled!

The placenta in the front actually provides extra cushion and protection for the baby, which I'm sure came in handy last week when I was in 2 car accidents in the same day. In both accidents, I was hit from behind by drivers not paying attention. I was driving alone on the first one, and went to urgent care to get checked out (I hit my face and head on the steering wheel and was freaked out by the seat belt grabbing my stomach). The second one was not more than 3 hours later when Adrian was driving us to dinner. What are the chances of that?! Anyway, the baby is doing fine and probably had no idea what happened. Phew!

I promise I will soon post the photos from the 19 week ultrasound.
